Br. Sergio Galdi d’Aragona OFM, Secretary for the 2021 General Chapter

During the General Definitory meeting last March 20, 2019, Br. Sergio Galdi D’Aragona, OFM of the Custody of the Holy Land and the General Commissary of the Holy Land in Italy was elected as Secretary for the 2021 General Chapter.

Born in Salerno on 30 October 1965. He has a PhD on Political Science, a Political-International course, and had his Masters in European Citizenship and Public Administration at the Scuola Superiore dell’Amministrazione dell’Interno in Rome. He also holds a degree of Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology.

He made his first temporary profession of religious vows in September 2007 as a member of the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land and made his solemn profession of religious vows on 06 October 2011. He was ordained a priest on 29 June 2013 in Jerusalem.

He served as Secretary of the Holy Land from 2013 to 2016. From Autumn of 2016, he served as General Commissary of the Holy Land based in Naples, Italy and, in the same year, was also elected President of the Conference of the Commissaries of Italian Language, to which Italy and some Slavic countries belong.
