Decree Promulgations of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints

On January 22, the Holy Father, Francis received in private audience Card. Angelo Amato SDB, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints.

At the audience, the Pontiff authorized the Congregation to promulgate the decrees regarding the miracle attributed to the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God Maria Teresa Casini, foundress of the Oblate Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. She was born in Frascati (Italy) October 27, 1864 and died in Grottaferrata (Italy) April 3, 1937.

The cause was entrusted to Rev. Friar Luca De Rosa, OFM in the year 1997. It is expected that the rite of beatification will take place in Frascati in the fall of this year.

The Servant of God, Teresa Gardi Lay woman of the Third Order of St. Francis also had heroic virtues; she was born in Imola (Italy) October 22, 1769, and died on 1 January 1837.
