Franciscan Friar chosen to lead Lenten Retreat for the Pope

Br. Giulio Michelini, OFM, will lead meditations on the Gospel of Matthew’s passion, death and resurrection of Jesus for Pope Francis and members of the Roman Curia for their Lenten retreat on March 5-10 at the Casa Divin Maestro retreat center in Ariccia.

Br. Giulio, who was born in Milan, took his vows in 1992 as a member of the Seraphic Province of St. Francis and was ordained to the priesthood in 1994. He currently teaches at the Theological Institute of Assisi.

The retreat will begin on Sunday evening with eucharistic adoration and vespers. The following days will begin with Mass at 7:30 a.m., a meditation at 9:30 and at 4 p.m., then adoration and vespers. The final day, March 10, will conclude with one final reflection.
