Minister General’s visit to Egypt concludes

During his visit to Egypt, the Minister General had several meetings with the Provincial Definitory, the Guardians, the under-10 friars, the Sudanese friars, the Franciscan Family, the Apostolic Nuncio, the Patriarch of the Coptic Orthodox Pope Tawadros and the Sudanese community.

Brother Victor Luis Quematcha, Definitor General, who took part in the Fraternal Visit, reported that all the friars appreciated the willingness of the Minister General to listen and share.

Having completed this stage of the five-day Fraternal Visit in Egypt, Br Massimo Fusarelli went to Morocco for the Canonical Visitation of the Custody of the Protomartyrs, dependent directly on the Minister General. From 10 to 22 February, he will meet with the Council of the Custody in Rabat and with the friars in Marrakech, Meknés, Larqche, Tetuán and Tangier.

In addition to the friars in Rabat, the Minister General will also visit the Apostolic Administrator of Tangier, Cardinal Cristobal López Romero, and the Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Vito Rallo.

A visit to the Poor Clares and various other groups will follow in Casablanca.
