04 Apr The Continental Congress of Formation in Africa
The Continental Congress of Formation in Africa is held from 31 March to 7 April 2019. It is the fifth in a series of six Congresses organized by the General Secretariat for Formation and Studies beginning in 2017. It involves formators of the various conferences of our Order present in the different continents. The African Congress, hosted in Abidjan (Ivory Coast), is attended by almost thirty formators from the different Entities present in Africa. These congresses, mandated by the 2015 General Chapter, deal with the theme of accompaniment in fraternal life, with particular attention to the formation of Guardians and vocations animation. At the end of the gathering, the participants approve a short text that summarizes the ideas that emerge from the Congress. The fraternal welcome of the friars of the Province of the Incarnate Word, in whose territory the Congress takes place, and the warmth of African culture joyfully accompanied the stay of all the participants.
