Br. Enrique Muñóz Gutiérrez was elected the new Minister Provincial

Mexico: The new Definitorium for the Province was elected also

The friars of the Franciscan Province of Saints Peter and Paul of Michoacán, gathered in Chapter in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico, elected Br. Enrique Muñóz Gutiérrez Minister Provincial and Br. Raymundo Castillo Caballero Vicar Provincial.

 For the office of Definitors, Br. Raúl Hernández Martínez, Br. José Eugenio Álvarez Martínez, Br. Mario Cabrera Alcaraz, Br. Norberto Herrera Gutiérrez, Br. Julio César Negrete Valle and Br. Guillermo Alonso Piñón Ruelas were elected.

The new provincial Br. Enrique made his First Vows in 1984, Solemn Vows in 1990 and was ordained a priest on the 12th July, 1991.

The Mexican Province of Saints Peter and Paul currently has 238 friars, 10 novices and 13 postulants distributed in 41 friaries in the territories of Chihuahua, Mexico City, Guanajuato, Michoacán and Querétaro, in Mexico; and El Paso, and Texas in the United States. 

The friars dedicate themselves to the pastoral service of 23 parishes, in education with 5 colleges and two universities and to the assistance of the poor.

The Chapter, held from the 17th -27th July, 2023 was presided over by Br. Edgardo Manuel Pérez Tejeira, the Visitor General from the Province of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Central America and Panama.
