of the Order of Friars Minor
The General Constitutions and Statutes contain the fundamental norms for regulating the life of all friars everywhere according to the Rule. All the friars should endeavour with the greatest diligence to observe the laws contained in these Constitutions.
Without their faithful observance, fraternal communion and evangelical perfection can hardly be achieved in the manner proper to the Order. The declarative interpretation of the General Constitutions and Statutes is the responsibility of the General Chapter, while the authentic interpretation is reserved to the Holy See.
