From the 4th-8th August 2025 at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Cloud in the city of Azogues, the Chapter of the Province of St. Francis of Quito was held with the motto "Praised be my Lord, for the Friars Minor, witnesses of hope". The goal was to listen, discern and decide together on the life and mission of the Order of Friars Minor in Ecuador.
The opening Mass was presided over by Br. Julio César Bunader, OFM, Visitator General and President of the Chapter. In his homily, he recalled that Christ is the centre of our history and the one who calls us to live as friars and minors.
Br. César Külkamp OFM, the Definitor General for Latin America and envoy of the Minister General, also joined the celebration. The new Provincial Government that will animate the Province is composed of:
