Communiqué of the General Definitory regarding the Tempo Forte of January 2025

The January Tempo Forte took place from the 7th to 17th at the General Curia "St. Mary Mediatrix", in Rome.

The General Definitory, in the first ordinary session of its work, experienced a time of personal narration; it drew up the programme for the Meeting of the General Definitory with the new Provincial Ministers and Custodes (12th-20th May) and with the Visitators of the first appointment (21st-25th July) 2024; it defined, together with Br. Sergiusz BAŁDYGA, Secretary of the PCO, the topics to be dealt with by the Plenary Council of the Order and sent the letter of convocation; he completed, with Br. Darko TEPERT, Secretary General for Training and Studies, the drafting of the II of eight Letters on Formation; he continued discernment on some aspects: of the Guardian "St. Mary Draperis" in Turkey, of the International College "St. Anthony" and annexed Pontifical University Antonianum, and of the College "St. Bonaventure"-Fathers Publishers of Quaracchi in Rome; approved the extension of the Ratio Formationis Franciscanæ concerning the themes of the Protection of minors and vulnerable adults; ordered the revision of the theme "Visa Requests and Declarations" of the Handbook of the Provincial Secretary, for which updates will be given soon; shared in a formation session, with the help of Sr. Tiziana MERLETTI (SFP) and sr. Simona PAOLINI (SFMGB), on the way of accompaniment of the current situations of fragility of institutions in Religious Life, including those of the Entities, which require new visions and practices; met with the Government of the fraternity "St. Mary Mediatrix" of the General Curia for updates on fraternity; Br. Pasquale BERARDINETTI for updates on the Protocol Office and the Automation Office; Br. Joel ESPLANA SULSE and Br. Saulo DUARTE, for updates on economic matters; in the last session, he verified the work done.

has appointed:

• Fr. Teofil CZARNIAK, Visitatore generale della Prov. “Nostra Signora di Guadalupe”, negli USA;
• Fr. Martin LÜTTICKE, Visitatore generale della Provincia d’Irlanda;
• Fr. Georges MASSINELLI, Visitatore generale della Prov. “S. Paolo apostolo”, a Malta;
• Fr. Jorge Arturo LUNA VILLALABOS, Visitatore generale della Prov. “N. S. di Guadalupe”, in America centrale e Panama;
• Fr. Noel MUSCAT, Visitatore generale del Collegio Internazionale “S. Antonio”, in Roma;
• Fr. Aidan McGRATH, Delegato generale per l’erigenda Custodia autonoma “Buon Pastore”, in Zimbabwe;
• Fr. Saulo J. DUARTE, Segretario della Visita canonica relativamente alla parte economica, per il Guardianato “S. Maria Draperis”, in Turchia.

Ha approvato la rosa dei candidati a Ministro provinciale della:

• Prov. dalmata “Ss. Redentore”, in Croazia;
• Prov. “Verbo Incarnato”, in Africa Occidentale;
• Prov. “S. Antonio dei Frati Minori”, in Italia;
• Prov. “S. Junipero Serra”, in Messico;
• Prov. “Santa Croce”, in Slovenia;
• Prov. “S. Benedetto l’Africano”, nella Rep. Dem. Congo.

Ha decretato l’erezione canonica della:

• Prov. “S. Antoine de Padoue” nella Rep. Dem. del Congo, per cui ha eletto il primo Governo provinciale;
• Conferenza di Nord Africa e Medio Oriente (CONAMO).

Ha analizzato, delle seguenti Entità:

• La Relazione post Capitolare: Prov. “Santa Croce”, in Brasile;
• Le indicazioni del Visitatore e Delegato generale: Prov. “Ss. Cuore di Gesù”, Prov. “SS. Sette Martiri di Calabria” e Prov. “S. Maria delle Grazie”, in Italia.

Delle seguenti Entità, ha ratificato gli Atti delle elezioni avvenute: 

• In Capitolo: Prov. “B.V.M. Regina della Cina”, a Taiwan; 
• Fuori Capitolo, di: Guardiani: Prov. “N.S. di Guadalupe”, in America centrale e Panama, 4.

Ha approvato, sub conditione, gli SSPP di:

• La erigenda English-Speaking African Conference (ESAC);
• Il Noviziato internazionale interprovinciale della Provincia d’Irlanda.

Ha trattato i seguenti casi di separazione dall’Ordine: 

• Indulto di secolarizzazione ad experimentum: 1;
• Indulto di dispensa dai voti solenni: 1;
• Dispensa dagli oneri dello stato clericale: 1.

Ha esaminato, tra pratiche già in corso e nuove:

• Casi di Graviora delicta: 1;
• Dimissione dall’Ordine: 1.

Ha trattato altre pratiche di vario genere:

• Erezione canonica di Case (Entità dipendenti dal Ministro generale): 1;
• Soppressione di Case: 1;
• Pratiche di natura economica: 10;
• Concessione e/o rinnovo di obbedienze e/o borse di studio: 4;
• Ospitalità presso il Collegio Internazionale “S. Antonio”: 2;
• Progetti (Entità dipendenti dal Ministro generale): 2;
• Obbedienza per invio missionario: 2.

Il prossimo Tempo Forte è previsto dal 10 al 21 marzo 2025: si ricorda a tutte le Entità dell’Ordine di inviare le istanze da sottoporre al Definitorio generale entro una settimana dall’inizio dei lavori del Tempo Forte (entro venerdì 28 febbraio).
