Meeting of Delegates for the Poor Clares and Associated Communities

General Curia, 10 June 2025

12 June 2025

On the morning of 10 June 2025, a fraternal and enriching meeting took place at the General Curia of the Order of Friars Minor between the Delegates for the Poor Clares and the Aggregate Communities: Br. Clézio Menezes dos Santos, OFMCap, and Br. Fábio Gomes, OFM.

The meeting involved sharing experiences of supporting contemplative communities and reflecting on current challenges and profound richness of the Clarian vocation. Both emphasised that serving alongside the Sisters is a constant source of learning and proclamation, revealing the beauty of a vocation that springs from two inseparable spiritual sources: Francis and Clare of Assisi.

It was a propitious occasion to discern paths of collaboration of collaboration and reinforce the mission of animation and closeness to contemplative fraternities. With their hidden life, these fraternities are the praying heart of the Church and the Franciscan Family.

During the meeting, anticipation was also shared for the new Constitutions of the Poor Clares and the Capuchin Poor Clares, which are currently being finalised. Updating these fundamental texts is seen as an opportunity for renewal and creative fidelity to the charism.

Planning has also begun for a future meeting to be attended by the Delegate of the Friars Minor Conventual. The date will be confirmed shortly.

This dialogue between the three Franciscan Orders strengthens communion and renews the commitment to walk together in the service of the contemplative life of women.
