The Provincial Chapter for the Holy Family Province of the Friars Minor in Egypt took place from the 2nd – 6th June. For the first time all the friars of the Province participated at the Provincial chapter in the Marian city at al Mokatam, in Cairo.
The chapter was celebrated by Br. Raimondo Girgis from the Custody of the Holy Land accompanied by the Vicar General, Br. Ignacio Ceja Jimenez under the theme: “They that hope in the Lord will renew their strength... they will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint” (Isaih 40:31). The friars evaluated the life and mission of the Province orienting it to the values of fraternity and collaboration. During the chapter the following were elected:
Minister Provincial Br. Filippo Faragalla.
Vicar Provincial: Br. Lucas Helmi.
Definitors: Br. Milad Shehata, Br. Milad Guda, Br. Milad Rizk and Br. Gergis Matta.
We congratulate these friars under the guidance of the Holy Family to work for the good of the Province and the people of God that are entrusted to them.
