The Gospel is life: the Rule of Francis

16th September 2023, Round Table in Assisi

14 September 2023

Within the ninth edition of "The Courtyard of Francis", organized by the friars of the Sacred Convent and the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi, Saturday, the 16th September at 11.30 will be held in the Sala Cimabue / Sala della Pace, at the conference centre "Colle del Paradiso" (Piazza Inferiore), the round table entitled "The Gospel is life: the Rule of Francis".

The three Ministers General of the Order, Br. Massimo Fusarelli, OFM, Br. Roberto Genuin, OFM Capuchin, and Br. Carlos Alberto Trovarelli, OFM Conventual; Professor. Maria Pia Alberzoni, historian and expert in Franciscanism, and Brother Sabino Chialà, Prior of Bose, will participate and dialogue. The dialogue will be moderated by Br. Marco Moroni, OFM Conventual, Custos of the Sacred Convent of Assisi.

In the year of the Eighth Centenary of the Regola Bullata, the Courtyard of Francis wanted to pause and place at the centre of our attention the Rule of St. Francis, approved on the 29th November, 1223 by Pope Honorius III, in the Basilica of St. John Lateran. It is no coincidence that this year's edition is entitled "Being in order": during the three days of the event the guests, coming from the religious, political, scientific, social, economic, educational and philosophical world, will dialogue and discuss the theme of the Rules and the Franciscan Rule.

The meeting of the 16th September , organized in collaboration with the Seraphic Province OFM, the Seraphic Province OFM Capuchin and the Province of St. Francis OFM Conventual, will see the Ministers General discuss the relevance of the Rule to-day and in the world: themes such as the evangelizing mission, discipleship, fraternity, the relationship with the female universe and work will be addressed with a look at the origins and above all at the present, in a mutual and enriching exchange of opinions and experiences.

The meeting will be broadcasted live streaming on the youtube channel "Cortile di Francesco"
