At the age of 22 she entered the monastery of the Poor Clares of the Divine Providence in her hometown, where she was professed in 1883. She shone for her baptismal purity, spousal love of Christ, charity to the sisters, and her spirit of penance and reparation for the sins of the world. A deeply contemplative person, she had extraordinary gifts of grace, always lived in humility and enclosure. She died on June 4, 1899, at the age of 39. The fame of her holiness of life developed extensively after her death, to the point that during the Spanish Civil War her tomb was spared by the general devastation that was wreaked upon the monastery.
