On October 24 and 25 the Santa Clara Confederation of the Poor Clares of Spain and Portugal held its 20th Confederal and 8th Elective Assembly. The Santa Clara Confederation is comprised of 9 Spanish and 1 Portuguese federations.
During these days the confederal questions regarding formation were discussed. The Confederal Council and the Confederal Economa were elected. There were days of dialogue and of fraternal encounter.
The new Confederal Council of the Poor Clares of Spain and Portugal:
Coordinator: M. Isabel Cobo Jiménez, the Betica Federation of Our Lady of Loreto;
Vice-Coordinator: M. Mª Javier Soto García, the Cantabria Federation of Our Lady of Arantzazu;
Councillor: M. Mª José López de Maya, the Cartagena-Murcia Federation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Also elected in this assembly was the Confederal Economa: M. Mª Teresa Domínguez Blanco, the Betica Federation of Our Lady of Loreto.
Let us accompany with our prayers these sisters chosen to carry out these services for the good of the Church and our Order.
