On the occasion of the 750th anniversary of the death of Saint Bonaventure, which we will celebrate on July 15, 2024, the Letter of the Ministers General of the First Order and the Third Order Regular was published.
An anniversary that offers the opportunity to remember, celebrate and repropose the service of the Seraphic Doctor given to the Order and the entire Church, we read in the Letter.
The four Ministers General (Br. Massimo Fusarelli OFM, Br. Roberto Genuin OFMCap, Br. Carlos Alberto Trovarelli OFMConv and Br. Amando Trujillo Cano TOR) remember the words of Pope Paul VI, who in 1974 on the occasion of the 700th anniversary invited everyone to carefully meditate on his message in order to become effective witnesses in the Church and in the entire world.
Even Pope Francis, during the recent audience with the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum, remembered the Saint of Bagnoregio (Viterbo, Italy) and the Prologue of his Breviloquium, in which he encourages everyone to approach the Father “with simple faith.”
