On November 4, the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, appointed Br. Pedro Orlando Castro Castro, OFM, a member of our Province of the Twelve Holy Apostles in Peru, as Coadjutor Apostolic Vicar Bishop of the Apostolic Vicariate of San Ramón in Peru.
Br. Pedro was born on June 28, 1961, in Lima. He received the Franciscan habit on March 28, 1987, made his solemn profession on July 29, 1993, and was ordained a priest on June 29, 1995.
He obtained a Doctorate in Theology from the Theological Faculty of Lima, a master’s degree in political science from Ricardo Palma University in Peru, as well as a Licentiate in Canon Law from the Pontifical University Antonianum.
During his ministry in his Province, he has served in various roles, including parish priest, Guardian, professor, Secretary Provincial, Definitor, and Vicar Provincial.
