First Anniversary of the death of fra Giacomo Bini

The Franciscan and ecclesiastic community of Palestrina, on the evening of 9th May, celebrated the first anniversary of the passing of fra Giacomo Bini. The church in the friary of St. Francis was packed with people who wished to participate at the memorial. During holy mass the spiritual figure of fra Giacomo was remembered, taking a cue from his recently published Diary. A brief showing of one of his last reflections with various photos which represented various moments in his life. At the conclusion, the fraternity of Palestrina offered to those present a souvenir of fra Giacomo, with the plan of his ultimate homily given at Palestrina on the theme “The Lord talked to us along the way”, taking its cue from the episode with the disciples of Emmaus. The brief memorial service renewed sentiments of gratitude towards fra Giacomo and it expressed once again the close and familiar link that unites the people with the Franciscan fraternity.
