On 28 March 2016, Franciscan Friars along with Franciscan Sisters and the Christian and Muslim Communities organized a prayer service at Gulshan-i-Iqbal Park, Lahore in Pakistan where 90 people were killed and at least 300 were injured in a suicide blast the previous evening, on Easter Sunday. Most of the victims of this horrendous act were Christian women and children who were celebrating Easter with their families in the park. Franciscan Friars, Jamil Albert and Victor Sawera, were at the spot after the bombing to assist the injured and console the grieving families.
