Fraternal Gathering of the Franciscan Friars of Rome

14 November 2016
On 12 November 2016, the Friars of the different Franciscan Families living in Rome gathered for the second time. The special meeting was held at the Capuchin Friars’ College of St. Lawrence of Brindisi, with the theme: "... camminare insieme (walking together)." Organized by the General Vicars of the First Order and the TOR with the presence of the General Ministers (except for the TOR Minister General who was visiting Friars in India), the meeting began with the video about the collaboration between the Franciscan Family followed by the welcome greetings from the Vicar General of the Capuchins. Then there was a moment of prayer animated by the "little choir" of the Antonianum. The Vicar General of the OFM introduced the keynote speaker, Bishop Rubén Tierrablanca, Bishop of Istanbul, who spoke on "Intercultural Reconciliation." After a short break, the meeting resumed with a musical performance by a small group of friars. After breaking out for small group discussions, the fraternal gathering ended with lunch. The day turned out to be grand with 250 Franciscan Friars attending! [gallery link="file" ids="11908,11909,11901,11902,11903,11904,11912,11905,11906,11907,11910,11911"]
