Dear Brothers and sisters,
At a time when human family and planet are facing manifold challenges, Pope Francis had pleaded for greater participation of whole human fraternity for assuring peace and harmony in the world. The pandemic which had devastating impact on the whole world left no person, rich or poor unaffected, the climate change and recurring natural disasters triggered by ecological crisis have devastating effects in various parts of the world and millions of people are forced to leave their homes and countries due to wars and violence. Pope has time and again urged inherent of various religions, cultures and nations to make concerted efforts to resolve the problems confronted by humanity today. For this it is important to promote dialogical relationship by promoting better understanding, mutual respect and responsible stewardship for our common home and responsibility to cultivate compassion and hospitality for all human beings, especially the poor and marginalized. This is what St. Francis believed, promoted and wished his brothers and sisters to continue everywhere and all circumstances human fraternities bonded together in God’s love and mercy.
In the spirit of Franciscan Charism and as a response to Global needs, the International Franciscan Fraternity, Turkey has been organizing Formation for Dialogue Course every year for the brothers and sisters engaged in the inter-religious and ecumenical dialogue in various parts of the world. Also those who wish to learn more about two major world religions Christianity and Islam and their perspective and efforts for dialogue. Also unity in the Church enhance Christ’s mission mandate to bring the Good News of Christ to all nations. We are pleased to invite you for XVII Formation for Dialogue Course to be organized 15th October to 29th October, 2023 at the Friary of Santa Maria Draperis, Istanbul, Turkey.
