From 25th February to 1st March, the Lay Brothers of the Bolivarian Conference met in Quito, Ecuador: "Brother Francis: Contemporary icon of Jesus Crucified".

The Provinces of Colombia were represented (2 Friars from the Province of São Paulo, 3 from Santa Fe - including Br José Alirio Urbina Rodríguez, President of the Conference), those of Peru (3 Friars from the Province of St. Francis Solano and 5 from the Province of the 12 Apostles), 3 Friars from the Province of St. Anthony of Bolivia and 7 from the host Province "St. Francis of Quito".

Unfortunately, the friars from Venezuela were not present because of difficulties in obtaining visas.

The meeting was held in accordance with the OFM guidelines for the 2021-2027 sexennium, in which the General Chapter asked us to renew our vision and to embrace the future, inviting us to formation for a renewed identity as Friars Minor.

Br César Külkamp, General Definitor for Latin America, was also present during the first two days.
