Meeting of the Commission on Prayer and Devotion

The Commission on Prayer and Devotion, whose members are Br. Julio César Bunader (Vicar General), Br. Emilio Rocha Grande, Br. Diego Dalla Gassa and Br. Gerardo Evans, gathered in El Palancar, Cáceres, from October 31st to November 5th 2016. The purpose was to present to the General Definitory, the content of the Guidelines to establish a Hermitage or House of Prayer, as it is indicated by the General Chapter 2015 (see Decision 7). This event was enriched by the fraternal and prayerful experience of the brothers who live at the House of El Palancar, a Fraternity of the Franciscan Province of the Immaculate Conception of Spain that privileges Prayer and Contemplation. This Hermitage or House of Prayer is located in one of the places where San Pedro of Alcántara lived. A significant moment was the visit to the Fraternity of Arenas de San Pedro, a Hermitage where Saint Pedro of Alcántara often lived and where his sepulcher is well-maintained.
