MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE FOR MISSIONS AND EVANGELIZATION (CEME) 24-28 April 2017

03 May 2017
The members of the CEME are gathered in Palestrina from  April 24 to 28 to revise the work of animation in the field of the evangelizing mission of the Order, which is carried out by each of the members: Friar Gabriel Gutiérrez (Colombia), Friar Pascal Robert (Pakistan), Friar Marcel Tshikez (DR Congo), Johnson MV (Inda), Friar Russel Murray (general Animator of Evangelization) , Friar Luis Gallardo (general Secretary for missions and evangelization).  Friar Francisco O´Conaire (Ireland) was invited to this meeting as a facilitator of the work, as was Friar Israel Ramírez (Mexico), assistant to our Secretariat. The main objectives of this meeting are to:
  1. To look at the challenges for the evangelizing mission of the Order in its different contexts. And in view of these, what answers can we give
  2. To assess the role and work of each of the members of the CEME.
  3. Prepare the meeting of the International Council for Missions and Evangelization (CIME) to be held in the Holy Land from April 23 to May 1, 2018.
  4. Prepare some concrete proposals for the celebration of the "World Day of the Poor" on November 19, 2017.
The meeting took place in the midst of a very fraternal and life-witnessing environment of the Palestrina Community. At the same time the members of the CEME had the opportunity to learn a little about reality and the context where the brothers live in this experience that walks in the spirit of "new forms (of Friar life)" in Europe.
