Meeting of the General Secretariats for Formation of the Franciscan First Order

On 12 September 2026, a meeting of the General Secretariats for Formation of the Friars Minor, the Conventual Friars Minor and the Capuchin Friars Minor was held at the General Curia of the Friars Minor.

During the meeting, participants were able to share their experiences in the field of formation across the three Orders. It became clear that the challenges and opportunities are very similar, and it was concluded that a more regular exchange of information on the work of the respective Secretariats could be beneficial to all. A number of issues of common interest were also discussed, in particular that of joint study centres.

At the end of the meeting, the participants were joined by the Minister General of the OFM, Br. Massimo Fusarelli, who spoke about the possibilities for collaboration within the Franciscan Family.

The meeting provided an opportunity to get to know one another better and to lay the foundations for future opportunities for meeting and exchange.
