Meeting of the Secretariat of the General Chapter 2027

From the 18th to 22nd July 2026, a working session of the Secretariat of the 2027 General Chapter was held at the General Curia in Rome. 

The two Vice-Secretaries of the Chapter, Br. Praveen D'Souza, from India, and Br. Juan Isidro Aldana Maldonado, from Colombia, together with the Secretary General of the Chapter, Br. Sergiusz Bałdyga, participated in the work. Fabrizio Carletti, of Missione Emmaus, also took part in the work as methodologist of the Chapter. 

During the meeting, the Secretariat went into detail about various aspects of the preparation of the General Chapter, paying particular attention to the elaboration of the agenda, the reports of the offices of the General Curia and the organisation of the different phases of the Chapter work. 

The Secretariat also met with the General Definitory, to which the current status of the preparatory work was presented, along with the main issues still to be developed in view of the next General Chapter 2027, which, we recall, will be held in Vietnam from the 5th to the 24th May 2027 in the Pilgrimage Centre of Our Lady of Núi Cúi.
