OFM Fundraising Partners continue collaboration activities to meet the needs of the Order throughout the world

The second meeting of the fundraising partners of the Order of Friars Minor (OFM) took place at the Siena Retreat Center in Racine, Wisconsin on June 1 – 2, 2018. On the western shore of Lake Michigan, the two-day meeting focused on fundraising activities, project coordination, and collaboration between the different OFM associated entities and individual friars. A presentation by the Minister General, Fr. Michael Perry, OFM focused on the immediate and future needs of the Order. In Fr. Perry’s remarks he said that there “is a need for us to create avenues for promoting the common mission that we share, namely, of supporting and encouraging Franciscans and their collaborators on the ground and of promoting the evangelizing mission of the Church, directly but also mostly indirectly, through the promotion of justice and human charity.”   Other presentations:

• Matthias Maier, OFM (President), Mr. M. David Reusch (Managing Director) and Mr. Wolfgang Spohn Haniel (Head of Project Dept.) delivered presentations for Missionszentrale der Franziskaner (MZF) on the organization structure, fundraising activities and projects.
• Jim Kott (Digital Communications Coordinator) delivered a presentation on fundraising activities and projects of the General Secretariat of the Franciscan Missions, Waterford.
• Tommaso Saltini (Director) and Ms. Guendalina Sassoli (President of Council of Supporters) from ATS pro Terra Sancta delivered a presentation on the fundraising activities of the organization and the needs of the Holy Land.
• Franco Mirri, OFM (Director) delivered a presentation for the OFM Office of Development and Fundraising regarding the needs of the Order for Formation and Missions.
• John O’Connor, OFM joined the meeting via telephone to present fundraising in the U.S.A. for the Order
• Mario DeCicco, OFM discussed fundraising in projects for the Order
