Schedule of Pope Francis’ Pilgrimage at the Portiuncula

On 4 August 2016, Pope Francis will make a pilgrimage to the Portiuncula. Three moments will mark the pilgrimage: a personal prayer in the Portiuncula, a reflection, and a meeting with the friars of the Portiuncula’s infirmary. Beginning at 4:00 pm, in the Papal Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels, Pope Francis will spend a moment of silent prayer at the Portiuncula. Immediately after, he will offer a reflection on the Gospel passage of Matthew 18:21-35. At the end of the catechesis, the Holy Father will greet the Bishops and Superiors of the Franciscan Orders present, then go to the infirmary.
