"Praised be you, my Lord: the hope that praises and restores everything"
Dear Conceptionist Sisters,
May the Lord give you His peace!
I am addressing you again this year on the occasion of the Solemnity of St Beatrix of Silva, and I do so with particular joy. This year we celebrate the 800th anniversary of St. Francis' Canticle of the Creatures, that masterpiece of praise that the Poverello composed when, by now almost blind, he knew how to transform suffering into sung hope.
Just as Saint Beatrice taught you to serve God and the Blessed Virgin Mary in the mystery of her Conception, you too are called to recognize in every creature a gift to be praised and safeguarded.
The Canticle thus becomes a school of hope for your contemplative life and for the world that awaits signs of the Resurrection.
