The Minister General, Br. Massimo Fusarelli, and the General Definitor for Africa, Br. Siphelele Gwanisheni, are in South Africa for a fraternal visit to the Province of Our Lady Queen of Peace.
On October 18, the feast of St. Luke the Evangelist, the Most Rev. Henryk M. Jagodziński, Apostolic Nuncio to South Africa, accompanied by Monsignor Giacomo Antonicelli, Secretary of the Apostolic Nunciature, participated in the Holy Mass presided over by Br. Massimo, was concelebrated by Archbishop William Matthew Slattery, OFM, Archbishop Emeritus of Pretoria. At the beginning of the celebration, which took place at St. Francis House, Kort Street, Rietvalleirand, Pretoria, the Apostolic Nuncio and the Minister General were welcomed by Br. Ashley Tillek, OFM, Guardian of St. Francis House. The Holy Mass was attended by other Franciscans, including friars from Mozambique, as well as religious sisters from the Franciscan Family, members of the Third Order of St. Francis, and many lay faithful. During the celebration, the homily was delivered by the Apostolic Nuncio.
Br. Massimo and Br. Siphelele will continue their visit until October 24.
