Maria degli Angeli, Assisi Franciscan week in Venice The “San Bernardino” theological College will soon hold its 39th Study Week, entitled: “Bitterness transformed into Sweetness.” During the week of studies, held from August 28th to September 2nd, 2016 at “Regina Mundi” in Cavallino (Venice), there will be reflections on Mercy in St. Francis, and in the Franciscan tradition. www.fratiminori.it Study Programs at the Franciscan International Study Centre, Canterbury The Franciscan International Study Centre in Canterbury, UK, a widely recognized institution in the Franciscan world and beyond, offers two certificate programs: a Certificate in Franciscan Studies and a Certificate in Training for Franciscan Formation. Each of these certificates can be earned within six months, namely, during the Michaelmas (Oct-Dec) and Lent (Jan-Mar) terms of a given year. For information: www.franciscans.ac.uk 12th Ongoing Formation Course on Ecumenical and Interreligious Dialogue in Istanbul The international fraternities of Istanbul and Smyrna in Turkey is offering a course of Ongoing Formation on Ecumenical and Interreligious dialogue - in both English and French - to all the Friars Minor and the Franciscan family. The course will take place from October 13th–28th, 2016. Topics covered will include: Formation to Dialogue in the Franciscan Charism, and Ecumenical, Islamic–Christian and Judeo-Christian Dialogue. A visit to the Churches of the Apocalypse will also be part of the course. The human desire for God is an essential foundation of all religious experience. The symposium takes into account the question of the desire for spirituality and examines different ways of thinking.
