We pray for Morocco which suffered a 6.8 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter 70 km from Marrakech, in a rural area. In cities, homes are built in a modern way, but most homes in rural areas are built with pressed earth that crumbles with nothing. Unfortunately, many people lost their lives.
"These people are very exhausted... but they teach us to trust in God (Allah!) and not to lose hope! They teach us!", shared with us Br. Franco Drigo, OFM, who lives in Morocco.
The friars' convent in Marrakech was damaged, the friars and the Poor Clares are well, but for many people the situation is very difficult. In the face of this drama, Br. Franco invites us to join in prayer for the many people who are suffering: “I ask you to join in our prayer for these poor people who are hosting us! We are trying to understand how we can take action on site!”
