Letters on Formation

Within the framework of the Jubilee Year 2025 and in continuation of the celebrations of the great Centenary of Saint Francis, the Minister General of the Order of Friars Minor has initiated the sending of a series of letters dedicated to the theme of Formation. This is a journey designed to offer concrete encouragement and share some fundamental reflections addressed to all friars engaged in formative service and, in particular, to the Ministers and Custodians of the various Entities of the Order.

These letters touch on various aspects of initial and ongoing Formation, emphasizing the centrality of fraternity, community life, and accompaniment in the journey of the friars. Both the personal and community dimensions of growth and maturation in the Franciscan vocation are valued, inviting us to live Formation in an integral way in daily life, according to the spirit of Saint Francis.

The intention is to provide, throughout the two-year period 2025-2026, seven letters to those responsible for Formation in our Order.

The letters are available in PDF format to be read, meditated upon, and shared in the fraternities, formative groups, and local realities of the Order.
